Summer Concert Reviews

"Mick Hayes Band played a little "Cheap Trick" of their own on the audience by giving a tease before he was set to hit the stage. Doing a short warm up of a couple songs put everybody on their feet in anticipation. Trick or treat ladies and gentlemen! The musicians pulled the plug and baited the fans into wanting to hear more. So when the Mick Hayes Band hit the stage, everyone was already on the edge of their seats waiting for the first note. Hayes was in no position to disappoint the crowd as his bluesy/rock guitar punch was on target to get the crowd harmonized."

"Where the hell did Mick Hayes come from? Yeah, I know - Buffalo. But I'd never heard of him until Saturday night when, on a quest for some sweet tea and swine, I stumbled upon him on stage at the Dinosaur. It was slide, it was rockin', it was the blues dished up trio style. Hayes' playing was intense without being flashy, boisterous without being obnoxious. It was low down and hot. It was so good that the man gets a pass for covering Steve Miller."

"Opening this evening's show was the hard hitting and rockin’ blues outfit, the Mick Hayes band. Hayes, who plays guitar and sings, was backed by an awesome rhythm section, that included veteran drummer Eric Malinowski and bassist’ Tom Zielinski. Their solid 45 minute set, consisting mostly of all original material, kept the crowd on it's feet for their entire performance. This band definitely has it going on, with Hayes’ stompin’ and soulful six string skills, along with the infectious groove provided by Malinowski and Zielinski, this band could be on the verge of much bigger things. One thing is for sure, they have 15,000 more fans after this performance."
